Brighouse A took advantage of the home green in their Naylor Premier League clash with Clayton A but it took a couple of late single-figure wins from Ian Smith (21-6) and Jon Edmondson (21-4) to seal the victory.
Eccleshill had to dig a little deeper and needed the last two jacks to seal the fate of Pudsey Britannia A, with single-figures successes for Paul Matthews (21-5) and Mick Angus (21-6).
Eccleshill B were nilled at Pudsey Limited A. John Spinks started off the rout with a 21-5 and Stuart Hanson adding further misery at number nine with a 21-6 success.
Spen Victoria A found visitors Ladyhill a tougher proposition but a 21-8 win from Tony Throup 21-8 helped them to a 19-11 victory.
The shock result in the Godwin League was at Bramley Libs A where Cross Roads pulled off a 19-11 success, thanks in part to a 21-7 from Les Foster. Neil Brighton's 21-1 win for Bramley proved in vain.
Graham Oliver (21-5) picked up the sweep as Guiseley A comfortably saw off Brighouse Sports B 21-9.
Asa Briggs beat Spen Victoria B 24-6, while fine wins from Terry Marsden (21-8) and Trevor Benn (21-6) helped Wyke A to a 23-7 success over Rufford and Peel A comfortably overcame Queensbury A 22-8.
In the Observer League, a 21-6 for John Deehan helped Low Moor Harold to a 22-8 home success over Pudsey Limited B.
Greengates A just lost out in a titanic struggle at Royd House A for whom Tony Southern (21-6) and Richard Kearns (21-7) starred. Bill Cater (21-5) and Kelly Ormston (21-9) were in good form for the visitors but it wasn't quite enough in a
16-14 defeat.
Woodside A couldn't build on a fine win from Stuart Tennant at Crossgates in the Bartle League, slipping to a 19-11 defeat, while Crowghyll A went down 22-8 at home to Bowling.
Nino Esposito picked up the sweep in a scrappy match when Lister A visited Haworth. However a superb 21-0 success for Haworth's Herbert Shaw swung the match his side's way.
Stanningley and Tyersal A provided a feast of fine bowling with the match ending level after impressive wins for Tyersal's Jamie Lindley (21-8) and Stanningley's Don Shaw (21-1) and Maurice Warren (21-8).
In the Haigh League, Bramley Libs B struck a blow for the Leeds contingent with Alex McCartney (21-4) and Patricia Sunderland (21-8) helping them inflict a home defeat on hosts Pudsey Britannia B.
The Riley League clash between BBA and Eccleshill C went narrowly the way of the home side, Steve Holmes impressing at four with a 21-4 victory.
Queensbury B handed out a sizeable defeat to Pudsey Ltd C aided by single-figure wins for Norman Hirst (21-6) and Saville Kershaw (21-8), while Troydale went down 17-13 to Guiseley B.
West Bradford A grabbed a narrow home win against Harold Park thanks to a fine win from Harry Walton (21-2), while Drighlington B hung on at home to Horsforth Woodside B, despite Norman Murphy's 21-6 win for visitors.
Horton B saw off Crowghyll B's
challenge in the Field Packaging League with single-figure victories for Isabel Kennedy (21-2), Eddie Willoughby (21-8) Dave Lee (21-8) and Melvyn Johnson (21-6).
Royd House B climbed the hill to visit Queensbury B in the Mellor League and came away happy, although it took good wins for Melanie Ormston (21-5) and Richard Hinchcliffe (21-6) to seal the victory.
In the Moorhouse League, Peel D had Jack North (21-6) to thank for their narrow win over hosts Bailiff Bridge B, while Shipley Club trounced Bowling C 30-0.
