Bartolomeo Di Crespi is a 40-year-old Italian bachelor living in 1970s New York. His passion is interior design and his dream comes true when he is invited to renovate his childhood Roman Catholic church. With a huge budget, this should be Bartolomeo's dream job.
But suddenly he can't think of a single creative idea. When the funding for the renovation comes under threat, it seems as if the whole project is doomed. A well-written novel where the plot is enhanced by sumptuous descriptions of food, clothes and furnishings.
