Four fundraisers have been congratulated on their efforts by Bradford City footballer Zesh Rehman.

The defender was at Low Ash Primary School, in Shipley, along with Kim Farrand, an assistant at the Football in the Community programme, to award footballs, signed by the City squad, to Dominic Baldwin, four, Owen Briscoe, three, Fabio Castenheira, five, and Alicia Rosconie, five.

They raised more than £100 each to contribute to £4,681 raised by the school for taking part in a Billy Bantam penalty shoot-out by Bradford City’s Community Foundation.

The money is being split between the foundation and to provide extra curricular resources for children at Low Ash.

Other children who raised at least £2 received a medal from Mr Rehman and those who raised more than £20 received a leather football.

Judith Gibson, school bursar, said: “Previous fundraising by the children has made it possible for the school to purchase outside play equipment such as a multi-use games area and last year a stock trail.”
