Only six weeks after Balraj Singh was banned from driving for six months, he was behind the wheel again driving through a red light, magistrates in Bingley were told yesterday.
Singh, of Cross Lane, Birkenshaw, Bradford, was driving home along Canal Road, Bradford, from the family off-licence business at 10.55pm, on January 15.
He had been banned under the totting up procedure by Halifax magistrates on December 2.
The 22-year-old, who pleaded guilty to driving while disqualified and without a licence, escaped a further ban after the court learned he was helping his mother run two businesses in Keighey and Bradford.
He was sentenced to a 120-hour community order to be completed over 12 months and his licence was endorsed with eight points. He was also ordered to pay £85 court costs.
