Police have closed Back Lane between Allerton and Clayton after a frozen water leak caused treacherous driving conditions.
Inspector David Roberts, of Airedale and North Bradford police said: “We had a report from a member of the public that they had been sliding down a hill so officers were sent to have a look and decided to close the road.”
Police are advising motorists to take extra care after icy conditions caused two minor accidents in Allerton Lane and Chat Hill Road, Thornton.
- A driver was cut from the wreckage of his car by firefighters after it overturned on a road in Horsforth tonight. Emergency services were called to a silver Vauxhall Astra in Scotland Lane, near Dean Grange Farm, at 7pm. The vehicle was on one side with the male driver trapped inside. The man was taken to hospital by ambulance with serious injuries, a police spokesman said.
