It is lights, camera, action for staff at a Bradford firm who landed roles in a film directed by A Touch of Frost’s David Jason.

Producer Shane Hamill met Jill Kemp, managing director of Care Recruitment Specialists in Little Germany, at a fundraising event for Little Heroes.

The charity, which raises funds for toys for children in hospital, is supported by the Lord Mayor of Bradford’s Appeal and last year won Best Community Project award at the Telegraph & Argus Bradford’s Best awards.

Jill said: “We’re on the Little Heroes committee and Shane was compering and singing at the Little Heroes ball. He told us about the film and said he was seeking sponsorship.

“We got involved and were asked to appear in it, which was brilliant. David Jason was lovely and put us at ease. I play a hotel guest and have a scene with Emmerdale’s Chris Chittell, who plays the manager.’’ The short film, called All The Way Up, has been shot in the region and will be taken to film festivals including Cannes. The cast includes Adrian Dunbar, star of movies The Crying Game and Hear My Song. Made by West Yorkshire-based Emerald Sky Films, the film is about a man planning an affair.

Mr Hamill said David Jason became involved when co-producer Ben Sweet, who had worked with the star on ITV drama A Touch of Frost, asked him to look at the script.

He said: “We’re thrilled he agreed to direct it. This is our first film and we have high hopes for it at the festivals. It’s a moral story with a twist. We filmed at the Queen’s Hotel in Leeds and our studios in Huddersfield.”

Jill said: “I’ve done a bit of acting with Bingley Little Theatre but this is my first film. We’re off to the wrap party this week, it’s all very exciting. We’re looking forward to seeing the film once it’s been edited.”
