Thieves stole £50 from a pensioner’s purse after tricking their way into her home.
One of the suspects knocked on the door of the 74-year-old and asked to look for a lost ball in her garden.
He searched around the garage and then beckoned the pensioner over. When she left her back door a second suspect sneaked inside and took the money.
The burglary happened at 4.30pm on Monday in Northfield Road, Wibsey.
Acting Detective Inspector Craig Lord said: “This was a mean and despicable offence on a vulnerable victim. We are warning householders to be vigilant and extra police patrols are in the area to provide reassurance.”
The first suspect was a slim, white man, aged 19, with broad shoulders, 5ft 7ins tall, with short black hair. His accomplice was a slim white man.
