A 50-year-old man has been jailed for three and a half years for selling class A drugs from his Bradford home.

Convicted armed robber Lloyd Russell dished out wraps of heroin from his door to feed his £50-a-day drug habit, a Court heard.

He was caught when drugs squad officers searched his flat at Bollinbroke Court, Little Horton, on April 16 last year.

Russell pleaded guilty at Bradford Crown Court yesterday to supplying a wrap of heroin, and possessing nine wraps of the drug with intent to supply and £167 of drugs money.

He told police he was behind with his bills and spent up to £50 a day on his heroin addiction. He said he had been selling up to 20 wraps a day for weeks.

The court heard that in 2002 Russell was locked up for seven years for robbery. He put a gun to Tause Khan’s head as he robbed his newsagent’s shop in Little Horton.

Mr Khan, who was 61, leapt at Russell, pinning his arms to his side, and refused to let go. The struggle spilled out on to the street and Russell was arrested at the scene.

Russell’s solicitor advocate, Michael Reeves, said he had made full and frank admissions to police about the extent of his drug dealing.

Judge Peter Benson said illegal drugs were a scourge in this part of Yorkshire. Although Russell was not a large-scale dealer, he had been operating for weeks in small quantities, the court heard.
