A Bradford teacher with bulging biceps and perfect pecs has one of the best torsos in the country, according to magazine readers.

Matt Buck, 26, of Idle, has come third in Heat magazine’s Torso of the Year competition, which attracted entries from hundreds of men across the country.

Matt, who teaches drums, bass and guitar in schools across the district with music company YouPlayMusic, was encouraged to enter the contest by his wife.

He said: “I have done quite a bit of modelling and I thought I’d give it a go. I’m trying to become a personal trainer so I thought the more exposure I get the better.

“I was quite surprised when I was told I’d come third. Looking at the people who were entered into it there was quite a wide range of looks so I wasn’t too sure what to expect. My wife loves it.”

Matt, who started working out six years ago, exercises four times a week at Fitness First in Eccleshill.

The competition is not the first time his well-toned looks have been recognised. Last year, Matt reached the top ten of World Sports Model Competition and a contest run by Men’s Health Magazine.

He has also been snapped up by sports supplements provider Maxi Muscle for its posters, which will appear in gyms and sports centres across the county.
