Staff at the Highfield Health Centre, in Tong Street, Bradford, donned wacky ties and tights to raise funds for the Bradford Marie Curie hospice.

The event also included stalls selling books, cakes and a tombola and raised £920.50 Judith Patten, patient liaison officer, said: “Staff paid to wear their strangest ties and tights. We had great support from our patients and some of them also manned the stalls for us. It was an excellent day.”

Marie Curie community fundraising manager Brenda Doyle said: “It’s a brilliant theme for a fundraising event. We are delighted that everyone rallied round to raise such a fantastic amount of money.”
