In Bradford, Buttershaw St Paul’s Amateur Operatic Dramatic Society are bringing a little sunshine to St George’s Hall with a production of Summer Holiday.

The stage version of one of the most popular films of the 1960s features songs such as Bachelor Boy, Move It, Living Doll, The Young Ones and Summer Holiday made famous by Cliff Richard And The Shadows.

Taking the lead roles of Don and Barbara are Andy Redfern and Amy Jagger, both Buttershaw members for several years. Many of the other roles are played by members who have come through the society’s youth productions.

Formed in 1932, the society is one of only a handful of amateur groups still performing a full-scale musical production in the city.

Summer Holiday runs from Tuesday to next Saturday, at 7.15pm. For tickets, ring (01274) 432000. Proceeds will go to local charities.
