Second-placed Bingley Congs suffered their first defeat of the season at Embsay.

The Shires Laners batted first and battled their way to 160 for seven. Rob Bateman top-scored with 34 as Iain Copping claimed five for 43.

Despite being short on front-line bowlers the home side dismissed Congs for 80. Only skipper Andy Copping with 47 reached double figures with Scott Robinson finishing with five for 32 and Stephen Speak four for 44.

Adie Powis (40), Matt Pearson (33) and Gareth Marshall (32) were the main contributors to Cullingworth's 201 for eight at home to Thornton. In reply the Booth Bridge Lane side were bowled out for 177, Chris Welch claiming five for 57 and Dave Robinson four for 29.

Oakworth knocked visitors Bradley over for just 79 with Chris White taking five for 26. The Cure Hill side galloped to a six-wicket victory.

The local derby between Glusburn and Cowling at Park Field went the way of the home side by six wickets.

The visitors notched up 167 thanks mainly to 45 by number seven Simon Spencer. The homesters were rocking slightly at 64 for four but didn't lose another wicket as Omar Khatab (54no), and Mark Price (45no) put together a match-winning partnership of 107.

Damian Rowell took six for eight for Haworth as derby rivals Haworth WE were skittled for 32. The home side lost two wickets reaching their target.

The Second Division top-of the-table clash between Denholme and Airedale was a humdinger.

Visitors Denholme batted first and posted a challenging 221 for five, with Rob Taylor hitting 83.

The home side were cruising at 143 for one before a fine spell of bowling by 14-year-old Richard Wear, who finished with five for 54, had them back in the hut for 210. Skipper Matthew Cox hit a superb 125 in vain for the Keighley side.

Will Burgess scored a superb 104 of Haworth Road's 236 for seven as they leapfrogged Airedale into second spot. Visitor's Chatburn could only manage 163 for eight in reply.

Crossflatts were easy 83-run winners over at Pendle Forest.

Ingrow were struggling at 73 for seven at home to Skipton CI, before Dale Hoyle with 45 rallied the tail and they finished on 175. Matt Carr took six for 71.

The ten-man Skipton side were going well at 97 for two then collapsed to 126 all out as Ian Roberts took five for five.
