As the only side in the top three to win both their games at the weekend, Otley reinforced their challenge and are now only two points behind leaders Kirkstall, who lead Bilton by a point.

Two four-wicket spells by Andrew Burke helped Otley overcome Adel and Burley, who also lost to Kirkstall despite a five for 59 spell by Nick Brook.

Rawdon's veterans Andy Sugars (7-26) and Bruce Percy, who was unbeaten on 74, led them to a much-needed win over Beckwithshaw, but their joy was shortlived because they crashed to a three-wicket defeat at Green Lane on Monday when they fell victim to Rohan Obst's second five-wicket spell of the season.

Nick Murden's undefeated 61 against Bilton and 78 against Guiseley helped Tong Park to two draws as they continue to grow into life in the top flight.

Guiseley, who had stuttered to defeat at Follifoot on Saturday, were much more impressive against Park, with Mark Ross hitting 91 of their 232 for eight.

Steeton continued their chase of leaders Pool in Division B, Paul Spragg leading the way with 129 and 94 as they took the majority of points off Knares-borough and Silsden.

It took a battling display for 16 overs by the final pair Darren Motchell and Andy Pullen for Silsden, who comfortably beat Bardsey on Saturday, to hang on for a point.

Steeton are now in joint second place with Horsforth, who had a double win, beating Menston and Hall Park, and are clearly going to be a threat with Kris Lewis leading the attack. He twice took five wickets over the weekend.

Menston continued to struggle, going down to Ilkley on Monday, six points that lifted the winners out of the bottom two.

Ilkley were defeated by Collingham on Saturday, despite a fine knock of 95 from Leighton Parsons, but Richard Harrison (5-40) and Chris Quaife (56) ensured victory over the bottom side.

Thackley remain too close to the bottom places after taking just three points from their games at Pool and Calverley, whose season came alive at the weekend.

Jake Brown cracked 18 fours and two sixes in his 131 scored in 121 balls as Calverley beat Hall Park and then Ben Platt weighed in with 116 in the winning draw against Thackley.

Division C is wide open after a topsy-turvy weekend. Two wins have put Colton on top, ahead of Olicanian, who were clear for 48 hours after their win over Addingham on Saturday.

However, they slipped up against Ben Rhydding, despite David Corcoran adding an unbeaten 77 to his 58 not out.

Addingham recovered to take four points off Upper Wharfedale on the bank holiday with Toby Stapledon hitting a half century but they slipped to fourth behind New Rover.

Ben Rhydding' double over Skipton and Olicanian moved them into fifth place. Andrew Winterbottom was their star with two four-wicket hauls, though brother Ian scored 93 against Skipton and Wade Kilburn hammered 106 off the Olicanian attack.

Richard Slater took five for 28 as Bolton Villas beat Alwoodley by eight wickets but his four for 64 couldn't stop him being on the losing side as Harden beat them with 11 balls remaining.

Simon Wood hit 58 for Harden, following up his 48 in 19 minutes in their winning draw over New Rover, in which Gary Topp scored 80.

Skipton's double defeat leaves them on the bottom and their misery was compounded when they were kicked out of the Waddilove Cup quarter-finals for playing Richard Walker in the last round after he had already appeared in a cup tie for Silsden. Thackley are reinstated and will play Beckwithshaw on 19 June.
