Guiseley AFC manager Neil Parsley is hoping to reveal who his new assistant will be in the near future.

Speculation has been rife since his former assistant Clive Freeman stepped down due to business committments at the end of last season.

Much of the speculation surrounds former Bradford Park Avenue manager Trevor Storton who has been a regular visitor at Nethermoor Park games over the past season since ending his managerial role with Droylsden.

Freeman became Parsley's assistant after Phil Sharpe moved on to take over the managerial reins at Frickley and now he is assisting Paul David at Wakefield-Emley.

Parsley is set to take advantage of a testimonial after serving the Guiseley club as player and manager for ten seasons.

Scouser Parsley took over the managerial hot seat following the departure of current Bradford City assistant manager Bobby Davison in October 2000.

Now on the eve of his tenth season with the club Parsley previously had two spells at Witton Albion.

During his first spell with the Cheshire side he was signed along with Mike Whitlow by the then Leeds United manager Howard Wilkinson and also had spells with Huddersfield Town, West Bromwich Albion and Exeter City as well as loan spells with Chester City and Doncaster Rovers.

Knee injuries forced him to retire from the playing side and he now works in the building trade as a site manager.

Guiseley chairman Rob Northfield is understood to have stepped down from that role but will continue to assist with sponsorship matters.

Centre-back Lee Connor has denied rumours that he is to join Harrogate Town.

Work has been done on the playing surface at Nethermoor in readiness for the new season and work parties continue in a bid to improve facilities.

Pre-season friendlies are being arranged with York City due at Nethermoor Park on July 21 and Bradford City have also agreed to play at Nethermoor on a date yet to be confirmed. It is also hoped to get a game with a Leeds United side.
