Bulls starlet Matt Cook is delighted to be getting another crack at international rugby - although he admits the return to under-18 level will take some adjusting to.

Cook, an age-grade international in both union and league, is among four Bulls in the England Under-18 side that will face France at Knowsley Road at the end of the month.

Matt Brooks, Matt James and Dave Halley will also face the French but Cook is the only Bull in the squad with first-team experience.

"It's always nice to get another cap under the belt," said Cook, who last played international rugby for the England Under-19 rugby union side.

"It's great for the portfolio and it's always an honour to play for your country at any level, so I am really looking forward to it.

"The hardest thing will be adjusting mentally, making sure I have the same mentality playing under-18s that I do playing first team for the Bulls."

Cook's stock has risen rapidly this season. On Saturday he made his third Super League appearance, putting in another impressive display and thoroughly enjoying himself against Hull at the KC.

"It was fantastic, awesome, I really loved it. The stadium in Hull has a great atmosphere," he said.

Cook should once again be in the frame for Sunday's visit of St Helens and firmly believes the continued exposure at Super League standard has helped take his game to a new level.

"It has boosted my confidence a lot and I think that is showing a bit on the field as well," he said.

"I'm more enthusiastic and I'm not as worried about messing up in training or anything like that. I am a lot more confident, mainly because of the talent you have around you.

"You are never worried when you go into a tackle because you know you will never be on your own. That gives me the confidence to get stuck in there more and it's the same on offence.

"Sometimes I end up feeling more relaxed coming off the bench for the first team than I do playing a 21s match."
