A voluntary worker from Keighley who died in October will be honoured at an awards ceremony today.
The partner of Dennis Langford will be presented with a special certificate by the Lord Mayor of Bradford in recognition of his outstanding 20-year service to Victim Support.
Pat White, deputy manager of Victim Support in the Bradford district, put Dennis's name forward for the Ilkley and District Council for Voluntary Services award.
She said: "What was special about Dennis was that he would always go the extra mile." She said when he visited the homes of elderly people who had been burgled, he would buy door chains and locks from his own pocket and fit them.
"Victim Support really misses Dennis and we in the office miss him personally. He was a remarkable man, a man of integrity, which is not all that common these days," she said.
The 63-year-old, who also helped produce Keighley and District's Talking Newspaper for the Blind, suffered a major heart attack minutes after touching down at Manchester Airport after a holiday in Skiathos.
Partner Pauline Biddle said Dennis, of Staveley Road, Ingrow, was a very caring man who worked diligently for both causes. She added: "Everyone is really proud of the work that he did."
She, along with Dennis's father, Arthur, and son Conrad will attend the ceremony in Ilkley.
