Glusburn had the edge in their derby clash with Cowling - winning by six wickets.

Cowling built a respectable innings of 167 with No7 batsman Simon Spencer scoring an impressive 47.

The homesters were rocking slightly at 64-4 but didn't lose another wicket as Omar Khatab, 54no, and Mark Price, 45no, put together a match winning partnership of 107.

The Rowell Brothers were in fine form for Haworth in their derby with Haworth WE. Damian took 6-8 and Jamie 4-14 to see the Penistone Hill side back in the hut for a miserable 32. The home side lost two wickets reaching their target.

Second placed Bingley Congs suffered their first defeat of the season at Embsay.

The Shires Laners batted first and battled their way to 160-7 in their overs. Rob Bateman top scored with 34 as Iain Copping claimed 5-43. Despite being short on front line bowlers the home side dismissed the Beckfoot side for 80. Only skipper Andy Copping with 47 reached double figures with Scott Robinson finishing with 5-32 and Stephen Speak 4-44 both off 17 overs.

Barrowford's grip on the First Division gets stronger, even after only seven weeks it will be a brave man who backs against them retaining their title.

The leaders inflicted more misery on bottom side Foulridge, winning by nine wickets. The Noyna side were dismissed for 97 as opener Chris Brooker-Carey with 45 was the only batsman to offer much resistance. Farooq Shehzad, returning to the club after a spell at Belvedere, took the tail out with 5-20 off 6.4 overs. An opening partnership of 94 by Nick Burton, 42, and David Hartley 44no, all but saw the Bull Holme side home and opened up a five-point lead at the top.

Adie Powis 40, Matt Pearson 33 and Gareth Marshall 32 were the main contributors to Cullingworth's 201-8 at home to Thornton. Scott Hudson finished with 4-88 off 17 and Brian Laycock 3-40 off 14 overs. In reply the Booth Bridge Lane side managed a creditable 177, spearheaded by Kev Pollard with 54 and Jason Lockley 36 as Chris Welch claimed 5-57 and Dave Robinson 4-29.

Oakworth knocked visitors Bradley over for just 79 with Chris White taking 5-26. The Cure Hill side galloped to a six-wicket victory.

The top of the table clash between Denholme and Airedale in Division Two was a humdinger. Visitors Denholme batted first and posted a challenging 221-5 with Rob Taylor hitting 83. The home side were cruising at 143-1 before a fine spell of bowling by 14-year-old Richard Wear, who finished with 5-54, backed up by Phil Poole who tightened the screw and had them back in the hut for 210. Skipper Matthew Cox hit a superb 125 in vain for the Keighley side

Will Burgess scored a super 104 of Haworth Road's 236-7 as they leapfrog Airedale into second spot. Visitor's Chatburn could only manage 163-8 in reply.

Crossflatts were easy 83-run winners over at Pendle Forest.

Ingrow were struggling at 73-7 at home to Skipton CI, before Dale Hoyle with 45 rallied the tail and they finished on 175. Matt Carr, back in the fold after a short spell at Carleton finished with 6-71. The 10 man Skipton side were going well at 97-2 then collapsed to 126 all out as Ian Roberts took 5-5 in 7 overs. Shaun Williamson made 38 for the losers.

Long Lee got themselves off the bottom of the table with their first win of the season at the expense of Cononley. The South Craveners made 101 in their innings with A Starkey making 30 as Paul Swindlehurst took 4-35 in 21.2 overs. The Keighley side got home by six wickets in the 33rd over.

Surprisingly, Sutton went down by three wickets at home to Sandy Lane. The homesters could only manage 136-9 in their innings with Malcolm Ellison making 54. The visitors were in a spot of bother at 55 but W Aktar 65 and M Roberts 39 put on 79 for the sixth wicket to take them to the points. Simon Doane finished with 3-36.

Leaders of Division Three, Thornton II, continued their good run with a solid victory over Riddlesden at Booth Bridge Lane.

Oakworth II move into second spot after a superb victory over previous occupiers Ingrow St John's at Street Lane. Colin Bottomley hit 70 as the Saints totalled 163, with Alan Stell 5-29 and Ian Jackson 4-71 doing the damage with ball. After three wickets fell cheaply, Steve Powell and Mark Pennington put on 99 for the fourth wicket to calm nerves the latter making 28. Powell had to retire on 87 but the Cure Hill side cantered home by 5 wickets in the 35th over.

One of Pendle Forest' old boys, David Flounders, proved to be a thorn in their side as they crashed by six wickets at Barrowford. The Fence went from 107-5 to 113 all out in just eight overs as Flounders claimed 4-2 in four overs. David Wilkinson with 41 was the backbone of the homester's victory.

There was another centurion in P Mistry who made 100 as Wilsden posted 233-5 at home to Haworth Road II. The reply fell 131 runs short thanks to Mistry 3-28 and D Hewer 4-25.

Gargrave entertained Ingrow St John's II and saw them off by six wickets. Ray Jones 5-40 and Paul Drinkall 38no being their main stars.

Embsay II's travels to J Nelson's proved to be fruitless as they went down by three wickets. Brian Hodgson 60no and Paul Barwick 32 helped the Shires Laners to 175-5. Then, despite 5-62 by Naz Hussain the Red Rose side got home in the 41st over.

Division Four leaders, Glusburn II, were biting their fingernails at Cowling. After restricting the home side to 136-8, they edged home by one wicket off the penultimate ball of the game. Ian Watson 59 and Matthew Wiggan 4-41 were the best performers for the losers whilst G Barr 50 and Richard Smith 6-56 did the business for the winners.

Bradley were the only other side of the top six to win, and propelled themselves in to second spot from sixth. They entertained Long Lee II and won by six wickets. Ian Clarkson took 6-44 and 16-year-old M Clarkson made 32 for the winners.

Carleton crashed at home by seven wickets to Airedale II. Simon Cox made 59 as the Ramper Park side made a modest 95 with S Aslam taking 4-38 and J Perry 4-21. Veteran Phil Loftus guided his side to the points with 51no.

Crossflatts II tumbled to 104 at home to Keighley TC in the face of a fine spell of bowling from Chris Brookes who finished with 8-50. I Copsey, 42no, led the Rose Cottagers to an eight-wicket win.

Bingley Congs II were 40 runs too strong for Wilsden II at Beckfoot.

John Stuttard with 6-48 tried manfully to get Skipton CI to the points at home to Haworth. However it was all in vain as chasing 113 the side could only muster 44 in reply.

There was another exciting finish in yet another derby game at Denholme. Visitors, Division Five leaders, Cullingworth, needed one to win off the last ball with the last pair at the wicket. They duly got the run and extend their lead at the top to four points.

Richard Taylor made 92 for the home side with Russell Hogg 51 and Ollie Fortes 26no doing the business for the victors.

Sutton II jump into second spot after a good four-wicket victory at Sandy Lane II.

Eight-man Riddlesden slumped to a 38-run defeat at home to Foulridge II.

Bottom side Pendle Forest III sprang a surprise against Chatburn II. Batting second they screamed to a five-wicket win thanks to a stunning 140 from Jon Crabtree, which is a club record score. He put on 174 for the second wicket with Frank Coward who contributed 39. Earlier the Ribble Valley side had made an impressive 202-5 thanks to Am Zulfi, 61, Andrew Lambert 41 and Mark Braithwaite 41.

Finally Cononley II inflicted a massive 146-run defeat on visitors Gargrave II. Dale Mason 94 and Kendall Gott 70 helped the homesters to 203-5 in their innings. Tom Holloway 6-14 then restricted the 10-man visitors to 57.
