Paul Arthurs' 21-9 win over Eccleshill B's Andy Firth settled matters for Armley Cons A as they edged out the hosts 16-14 in the Naylor Premier League.
Both teams will have been hoping for a
better result in order to move away from
the drop zone, though they will be lucky to survive this season.
Spen Vic A also look to be struggling for early-season form and even with seven
winners only just pipped Eccleshill A 16-14 at home, Justin Holgate producing yet another superb performance to defeat Mick Morris 21-6.
Wins for new Clayton imports Darren Clare and Clive Austin could not prevent an away defeat at Pudsey Brit A, Jim Moorin giving Brit a great start by winning 21-8.
Crossroads continue to dominate in the Godwin League and easily swept aside the challenge of Spen Vic B 25-5.
Paul Haigh (21-6) was the pick of eight
winners for Crossroads, though there was a notable victory for Spen's Gary Dawson as he disposed of Phil Anderson 21-7.
There is a concerning lack of home form for Brighouse B this season and they went down yet again, this time 18-12 at the hands of Asa Briggs for whom Andrew Heenan
(21-10) impressed.
Guiseley produced a solid 20-10 home win over Bramley Libs, Jeff Bolton claiming a 21-7 verdict while Graham Oliver bowled the game of his life to win 21-5.
Wyke A look to be making a concerted effort for promotion this year. Even David Greenwood (21-9) is winning games, a good sign, and he helped see off Peel A 21-9.
Crossgates, already well ahead in the Observer League, turned in another epic performance by thrashing second-placed Heckmondwike 27-3, Peter Wilcox top-scoring for Crossgates with a 21-5 result.

Greengates v Salts A is fast becoming a regular 'handbags at dawn' event, with the war of words only surpassed by Tommy Powell's 21-6 win for Greengates as they edged this nailbiter 17-13.
Promotion favourites Bowling A were 17-13 winners at Lister in the Bartle League, Bob Etherington doing some of the damage by winning 21-10.

In the Riley League, Pudsey Ltd C overcame nine-man Guiseley B 24-6, with Tony Butterworth's 21-6 only adding to the misery.
Harold Park will be looking for a swift return to the Haigh League and their 20-10 win over Troydale was thanks to four single-figure winners (S Harrison, A Maguire, R Burston and P Darvill).
John Shoesmith's 21-9 helped West Bradford to an 18-12 win at home to table-topping BBA, but Steve McCloughlin's 21-9 for Knowles B was not enough to stop them going down 21-9 at Shelf.
In the Field Packaging section, Barbara Venohr (21-2) was one of eight winners as Tyersal B found themselves on the wrong end of a 22-8 scoreline at Horton B.
Tyersal did have a couple of good winners though, with Cyril Simpson (21-5) and the ever-consistent Florence Woodhead both winning 21-9.
Anne Wheelhouse and Pat McEvoy exchanged 21-7 wins as Lister B edged Peel C 17-13 away, while Jack Abbot's 21-10 for Drighlington B helped his side to an 18-12 win at Crowghyll B.
Cleckheaton Sports have now gone top thanks to a 19-11 win at home to Woodside B, with Janice Walton a 21-5 victor.
There was some tasty action in the Mellor League, where Jim Lamb (21-1) and Arty Murtagh (21-9) eased Bowling B to a 19-11 win over Queensbury C.
George Woodhead was also a 21-1 winner as Oakenshaw B hammered West Bradford B 24-6. Les Tommis (21-6) and Bill Watson (21-7) were also on form.

There was conflicting luck for the Horton sides this week in the Moorhouse League, with table-topping Horton C 21-9 winners away to Shipley Club. Isabel Kennedy was in sparkling form for Horton, recording a 21-3 result, with Jean Brooks and Jack Ackroyd winning 21-7.
Horton D, on the other hand, were scuppered by Peel D 24-6, Jack North (21-3) and Jack Gilderdale (21-5) winners for the
victors.
Bowling C are surprisingly bottom but Kevin Stone continues to produce the goods, chalking up yet another fine win even though his side went down 23-7 to Bradford Moor, for whom John Pitts and John Mawson were both 21-9 winners.
