Steeton had to settle for two points from a losing draw at Victoria Park.

Calverley batted first and amassed 234 runs for the loss of seven wickets in their 50 overs. Calverley's opening batter S Moore scored 103, while Steeton's opening bowlers Paul Hardwick and Jon Best took three wickets each.

Steeton's reply was led by skipper Alex Howarth who scored 49 runs from 105 deliveries, including eight boundaries. Alex shared a stand of 61 with Aussie Nick Carroll, who smashed a quick-fire 35 from 26 deliveries, including eight boundaries. John Akrigg scored 40 runs from 52 deliveries, and the other batters to reach double figures were Neil Spragg (20), Jon Best (15) and Paul Spragg (13).

Having lost too many wickets Steeton had to bat out for a draw and they finished on 197-8.

Silsden were shot out for 97at Pool with Chris Barrett top scoring on 34.

N Naylor picked up 6-13 in an impressive bowling performance. The Cobbydale side were chasing 237-8.

Silsden 2nd XI clocked up their fourth win on the season with a comprehensive victory over New Rover.

Tight bowling by Tom Waggett who took 4-39 and DAve Baluk (3-36) restricted New Rover to 149-9.

In reply Silsden lost an early wicket, but 44 from Ian Sagar and an unbeaten 65 from Paul Tatterton saw them home by seven wickets.

Steeton 2nd XI had to settle for two points from a losing draw at home to Green Lane who looked to be in trouble at 32 for 3, but a fifth wicket stand of 133 helped them to a total of 233-9.

Steeton's top order batting self-destructed, and Steeton were 58-4. The rot was slowed by Julian Higginson who scored 40 runs from 45 deliveries and David Atkinson, batting at No 9 top-scored with 50 not out.

Steeton finished just 16 runs short, on 217-8.

Steeton 3rd XI progressed to the second round of the Chappell Cup following a thrilling bowl-out fagainst Beckwithshaw.

Beckwithshaw won the toss and had reached 85-1 when rain started.

In the bowl-out five bowlers bowled two deliveries each, but after the first phase the only bowler to hit the wicket for Steeton was Stephen Roberts leaving the score tied at 1-all.

Sudden death came into operation with the same five bowlers bowling a single delivery each. Stephen Roberts was second up in the bowl-out and again he was on target to secure a 2-1 win.
