Masked robbers escaped with cash after they targeted a Bradford convenience store last night.

The two male suspects, who were armed with short scaffold poles, demanded the female cashier open the tills at the Co-op in Griffe Road, Wyke.

They then damaged one of the tills with the poles before fleeing, possibly in an old Peugeot car, at 9.10pm.

A witness described one of the robbers as white, aged 25 to 30, about 5ft tall, stocky, with mousey blond hair, shaved short.

The second suspect was described as about 6ft tall, stocky, dressed all in black with a hooded top pulled up with a scarf over his face.

Detective Inspector Craig Lord, of Bradford South CID, said: "The woman is shaken up, but okay."

Witnesses or anyone with information about the robbers should contact police on 0845 6060606.
