Reduced or postponed capital spending sent IT firm Sanderson Group into losses in the year to September.

The company, which has an office in Rooley Lane, Bradford, said it made a £2 million annual loss compared with a £901,000 profit the previous year.

Sanderson said it had won 26 customers during the year, including Kurt Geiger, Boot Tree and Transair, along with major contracts from existing customers such as Wilkinson, Wyevale Garden Centres and Lakeland. The firm, which works with retailers including Harrods, Comet and French Connection, reported revenues down almost ten per cent at £24.9 million in the year to September.

After exceptional costs and goodwill impairment, Sanderson made a £2 million pre-tax loss. Chairman Christopher Winn said: “Trading conditions in 2009 were undoubtedly difficult, particularly during the first half of the financial year.”
