More than 1,000 shoppers visited a new Bradford budget store within an hour of its opening.
Bargain hunters had queued from 6am to get their hands on opening-day offers of wide-screen TVs, camcorders, DVD players and half-price fruit and vegetables.
The new multi-million pound Netto supermarket on Canterbury Avenue has replaced a smaller one. It was officially opened by Netto’s UK managing director Charles Kay.
In addition to more sales space for a wider range of goods, the new supermarket also has increased car parking and a tobacco kiosk.
Netto has six supermarkets in Bradford, selling more than 1,400 core lines, including leading household brands.
