School pupils in Bradford are getting lessons in boxing skills as part of a police project.
Sessions to learn the non-contact skills of the sport have been organised at Laisterdyke School by the Bradford Police and College Boxing Academy.
Youngsters are learning the ropes from a qualified boxing coach.
Community Engagement Officer PC Yasvender Rehill, said: “Having sessions like these is a great way for me to engage with the young people at Laitserdyke School.
“It’s important for them to get involved in such sporting activities as it helps them learn trust and respect for others.”
Inspector Jonathan Pickles, of the Bradford Police and College Boxing Academy, said it was an excellent opportunity for the police to work with young people.
Other schools, including Carlton Bolling College, are setting up boxing sessions.
