A bus driver was taken to hospital after yobs hurled a concrete slab through the windscreen of his bus in Thornton Road, Bradford.

Police are investigating following the “reckless and dangerous” incident, which shattered the windscreen and sprayed the driver with broken glass.

Fortunately, the driver, who works for First, suffered minor injuries following the attack.

The 24-year-old man, of Bradford, was taken to hospital for treatment and later released.

Several passengers who were on the bus at the time escaped serious injury.

A spokesman for North Bradford Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) said the attack could have been much worse.

Police are now appealing for witnesses to the incident, which happened near Fairweather Green Fire Station at 9.50pm yesterday.

Inspector Steve Greenbank, of the North Bradford NPT, said: “This was a reckless and dangerous act which could have resulted in serious injuries to the driver.

“We are treating this as a case of criminal damage to the bus and assault on the driver and would appeal to anyone who has information or saw what happened to come forwards.”
