A cold, windy day greeted the athletes at Mansfield's Berry Hill Park, the home of the national cross-country relays.
It was once again a fiercely fought battle at the sharp end with Bedford & County holding on to win from the fast-finishing Newham & Essex Beagles, with Morpeth Harriers in third.
Bingley entered three teams this year which was great to see. Up until a Friday withdrawal from the 'A' team there was nothing to choose between our 'A' and 'B' teams. Team selection tried to juggle factors such as current form, horses for courses, distance, underfoot conditions, age (giving the youngsters a chance).
Aidan Johnson yet again posted Bingley's fastest time, doing so on the first leg.
'A' team 34th: comprising Aidan Johnson (16min 36sec); Lee Athersmith (16min 49sec); Andy Peace (16min 38sec); Stew MacDonald (16min 50sec).
'B' team 57th: comprising Tim Midgley (17min 11sec); Jon Cordingley (17min 8sec); Steve Brooks (16min 54sec); Simon Johnson (17min 52sec).
'C' team 100th: comprising James Senior (18min 7sec); Dave Potter (18min 38sec); J. Willingham (19min 55sec); Stephen Fry (18min 17sec).
