Hanson School sixth form pupil Charlotte McCallum has received special praise after gaining a perfect score in her Government and Politics AS-level.
Charlotte, 17, gained a maximum mark of 300 in the exam – sat at the school this summer. Charlotte beat more than 9,800 candidates across the country to gain the top grade.
Jerry Jarvis, managing director of exam board Edexcel, said: “This is a tremendous achievement. We send our congratulations to Charlotte.”
While not studying, Charlotte also finds time to review music for the T&A.
She is working towards A-levels in English, history, politics and product design and plans to study politics at university in 2009.
