Nine-year-old Samantha Johnson treated her family to a free slap-up meal at the King’s Head pub in Halifax Road, Bradford, after winning first place in a school competition.
The pub launched a design-a-dish competition with Samantha’s school, St Winefride’s Catholic Primary in Wibsey, to boost community relations.
Samantha’s dish, mouth-watering toad-in-the-hole with seasonal vegetables, was picked by head chef Steven Webb.
Landlady Amanda Peet said staff had been impressed by all the entries from the school but Samantha’s had caught their eye.
She said: “Samantha’s design looked tasty and was a complete dish.
“Toad-in-the-hole will remain on the menu at the pub for a week and perhaps longer if it proves popular.”
