These kind-hearted primary school pupils collected food for deprived families and individuals throughout the district during a harvest ceremony.
St Anthony’s Roman Catholic Primary in Shipley held a Harvest Liturgy with members of the Bradford Metropolitan Food Bank (BMFB), which was launched to send out food parcels via professionals and organisations working in disadvantaged communities.
School spokesman Patricia Smith said: “The event was well attended by parents and the children loved it.
“The Food Bank representative said he was surprised by how much produce we had managed to collect.”
BMFB was set up by Lashman Singh, who founded the Bradford Curry Project 14 years ago, serving hot meals to homeless people in inner-city areas.
