A dad and daughter who died together in a horror crash have been named locally.
Stephen Rushworth, 37, of Brighouse and 15-year-old Shannan Harker, of Rastrick, near Brighouse, lost their lives at Bailiff Bridge, Brighouse, on Wednesday.
They were pronounced dead at the crash scene on Birkby Lane. The pair had been in a Volkswagen Golf heading towards Bailiff Bridge when it was in collision with a brown delivery van – a Peugeot 106 was also involved in the smash.
The Peugeot driver, a 21-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving but has since been released on police bail.
The incident happened at 5.15pm and the road had to be closed for several hours. Witnesses who saw the vehicles should contact road traffic police on (01422) 337236.
