Next week sees Bradford South neighbourhood police launch five days of action to tackle crime and anti-social behaviour in the Horton Grange area.

On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday officers from Bradford South NPT will be carrying out a number of high-visibility operations and activities, in a bid to improve community life.

Officers will also be returning the following Monday and Tuesday to follow up their efforts.

During the action days, operations to arrest wanted offenders will be taking place as well as high-visibility patrols by Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) who will be providing community reassurance as well as offering crime prevention advice to residents, supported by a NPT display van.

The PCSOs will also be helping workers from Bradford Council in clean-up operations and the fire service will be out and about knocking on doors to carry out fire-hazard surveys and giving residents general safety advice.

Inspector Kevin Pickles, of Bradford South NPT, said: “These days of action are designed to help improve the Horton Grange area for local people.

“Over the five days we will be carrying out a number of proactive operations, from clean-ups to arresting wanted offenders, so there will be a variety of projects going on in the area, all designed to improve the quality of life for Horton Grange’s residents.”

As well as work being done in Horton Grange itself, the off-road bike unit will be in Horton Park with the Council’s park rangers.

The Horton Grange days of action follow on from similar well received operations in Allerton and Lower Grange areas earlier this year.
