I admit it was only a slight sniffle, but at my time of life I’ve finally learned not to bat on regardless and make health matters worse.
It wasn’t anywhere near "man flu" territory and I like to think I didn’t even try to make out as such (although people were still quick to suggest as much!), but after a couple of days taking it easy, I was beginning to go ‘stir crazy’ with staying indoors.
Two evenings of near wall-to-wall TV almost did for me, trawling through the modest offerings on the evil eye in the corner of the room and finding little to lift the spirits.
But my personal policy seems to have paid early dividends, and it was good to be out enjoying the bracing chilled-fog air this morning on the bike, leaving the box of a car in the driveway.
