THE emotional power of choral music will take centre stage in a concert featuring the work of a renowned British composer.

The Bradford Festival Choral Society will perform Howard Goodall’s Eternal Light: A Requiem at Price Hall, Bradford Grammar School, on Saturday, November 14.

The concert will take place just days after Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day and will explore themes of loss, consolation, and hope through Goodall’s composition.

Thomas Leech, musical director of the Bradford Festival Choral Society, said: "One of the wonderful things about Howard Goodall's music is how directly it communicates.

"Eternal Light is full of warmth and humanity, and although it deals with loss and remembrance, it's ultimately a work of consolation and hope.

"With around 130 voices and live orchestral strings, there will be moments of real power, but also beautiful stillness."

The performance will feature professional soloists and string players from the Yorkshire Symphony Orchestra.

The concert begins at 7.30pm.
