Holmewood and Hunslet: Charges after cocaine, car seized

Two males have been charged with drugs offences following a police operation in Bradford that led to the seizure of cocaine, large amounts of cash and a suspected stolen vehicle.

The charges follow a warrant carried out by officers in the Holmewood area of Bradford on Friday, August 7, alongside linked police activity in Hunslet, Leeds.

Man and teenager due before magistrates

Codie Calvert, 23, of Chadwick Street, Hunslet, has been charged with being concerned in the supply of cocaine, possession with intent to supply cocaine and possession of criminal property.

A 17-year-old boy, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, has also been charged with being concerned in the supply of cocaine and possession with intent to supply cocaine.

They are both due to appear before Leeds Magistrates' Court on Saturday, August 8.

Cocaine, cash and vehicle seized

West Yorkshire Police said the charges stem from enforcement activity carried out in Holmewood and Hunslet on Friday, August 7.

During the operation, officers seized cocaine, large quantities of cash and a vehicle believed to have been stolen.

Both defendants have been remanded in custody ahead of their court appearance.

Investigation continues

Police have not released further details about the quantities of drugs or cash recovered.

The investigation remains ongoing.

FULL statement from West Yorkshire Police

A spokesperson said: "Two males have been remanded to appear in court today (Saturday) having been charged with drugs supply offences.

"Codie Calvert, aged 23, of Chadwick Street in Hunslet, has been charged with being concerned in the supply of cocaine, as well as possession with intent to supply cocaine and possession of criminal property.

"He is set to appear before Leeds magistrates with a 17-year-old boy, who has also been charged with being concerned in the supply of cocaine and possession with intent to supply cocaine.

"The charges follow a warrant executed in the Holmewood area of Bradford and connected police activity in the Hunslet area yesterday (Friday), which resulted in the seizure of cocaine, large quantities of cash and a suspected stolen vehicle."
