A RESIDENT has expressed their anger at a growing mountain of fly-tipped waste near a Bradford community centre.
The resident, who wishes to remain anonymous, says rubbish has been left to pile up close to the West Bowling Community Advice & Training Centre on Clipstone Street, since June.
Bradford Council said it was aware of the problem and is taking enforcement action.
The West Bowling resident said: "It’s deplorable. It’s right at the side of West Bowling Community Centre.
"I reported this to the council in early June.
"They didn’t even reply to me.
"I understand this is private land.
"But surely, the council have jurisdiction over how land is used in the district.
"It is an absolute eyesore in the local area, is right beside a community centre, and more rubbish is being dumped on the site as time goes on.
"Until a few months ago, this land was secured by a high metal fence, but this was removed and this is when rubbish started to appear there.
"Sites like this are appearing all over the district."
What the council said
A Bradford Council spokesperson said: "The Environmental Enforcement Team is aware of this case and appropriate enforcement action is being taken against the owner of the land to ensure all waste is removed."
