A TWO-DAY festival will bring a fresh burst of arts and culture to families in Keighley.
WonderFest, organised by The Leap as part of The Bradford Way programme, takes place in Keighley on June 20 and June 21, and offers a wide range of free and low-cost creative activities designed for children and families.
The festival aims to "inspire children and families to take part in creative experiences within their local communities" and is supported by Arts Council England.
Zulfiqar Ahmed, executive director of The Leap, said: "WonderFest is about giving children and families the chance to experience the joy of creativity on their doorstep.
"By working with fantastic local organisations across Keighley, we're creating opportunities for young people to discover new interests, develop their confidence and celebrate the culture, heritage and creativity that exists within their own communities."
Events and workshops will be delivered by community partners including Bradford Heritage Connection, Highfield Community Association, Keighley Association for Women and Children's Centre (KAWACC), Keighley Youth Focus, the New Keith Thompson Centre, and Sangat Community Centre.
The programme features hands-on creative workshops, cultural experiences, heritage activities, performances, and music.
There are also specific sessions designed for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
Mr Ahmed said: "We want every child and family to feel welcome at WonderFest.
"By working closely with our local partners, we've created a programme that celebrates creativity while making sure activities are accessible and inclusive, including for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities.
"Everyone deserves the opportunity to experience the benefits of arts and culture."
WonderFest is part of The Bradford Way, a district-wide partnership led by Bradford Council and supported by Arts Council England to increase participation in arts and culture, particularly among children, young people and families who may not traditionally engage with cultural activities.
The festival builds on The Leap’s commitment to community-led culture, ensuring that local people help shape the arts and cultural opportunities available in their neighbourhoods.
