THE Bradford district was the setting for the promotion video to launch Leeds United’s new away kit.
The advert, released on the club’s social media pages this morning, has been described by one commenter as the “best ever reveal video”.
Leeds United comfortably avoided relegation this season after being promoted to the Premier League and have begun the summer by treating supporters to the release of the away kit Ethan Ampadu and Co. will march out in for the 26/27 campaign.
The launch was accompanied by a video which featured Peacocks’ legend Lucas Radebe, as well as some of the current crop of players, like Ampadu, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Anton Stach.
The video begins with a shot from behind of Radebe on the edge of moorland, holding the new shirt, as he says: “After seeing Leeds away, nothing surprises me.”
That moorland is in fact Ilkley Moor – placed front and centre throughout the video alongside the promo’s message of “to the ends of the earth and then some”.
Five intrepid ramblers are seen wandering along the tops of Ilkley Moor in the next clip, donned in Leeds United clubwear, with one whirling a scarf above his head.
Radebe says at the same time: “The lengths people will go, it’s unnatural.”
The video is set to a bright, bouncy piano backing that gives the video an upbeat, cinematic feel but with a reflective tone, and fits well with the moments of humour that feature.
Such as when star midfielder and German international Stach appears on the moors, decked out in full country gent gear, complete with flat cap, tweed jacket and wellies, and says, “ey up”, to complete the cliché.
Or when Ampadu is sat on a rock with binoculars, and it is revealed he is peering at a fan skipping along the moorland with a cone on his head.

Stach poses the question, “is this lad okay”, to which Ampadu replies, “yeah, that’s totally normal” – a nod to Ampadu’s exuberant celebrations during United’s open-top bus parade of the Championship trophy last summer.
The Peacocks captain brought about cheers from the hundreds of thousands of fans lining the streets of Leeds when he was thrown a traffic cone from below and proceeded to pop it on his head.
The new away kit features Leeds United’s classic white rose crest and the Adidas Originals Trefoil logo, with the shirt patterned with the white rose throughout.
Lewyp32 described the kit on Instagram as an “absolute masterpiece”, while Famuelslinn went a little further and said, “I would swap my house for this – well done”.
