THE Light of the World Community Nursery in Bradford has received a positive inspection report from Ofsted.
Located on Gaythorne Road, this nursery has been serving the community since its registration on May 12, 2009.
It operates from Monday to Friday, 7.30am to 5.30pm, and caters to children aged 0 to 11 with a total capacity of 40 places.
According to the inspection report dated January 14, 2026, the nursery meets the expected standards in several key areas.
The report highlights that safeguarding standards are met, indicating that leaders have created a culture where safeguarding responsibilities are taken seriously. This ensures children are safer and feel secure during their time at the nursery.
The children at the nursery show suitable progress in their learning. Their ability to listen and concentrate during storytime is noteworthy. The report states, "Children show that they are developing their listening and concentration skills when staff read stories to them."
Staff support children in enhancing their communication skills, helping them build vocabulary and confidence.
Daily routines generally support children to know what to expect throughout their day. Staff members are respectful of children’s needs, promoting behaviours such as sharing and taking turns.
As stated in the report, “Staff model positive manners to children.” The nursery's learning environment is designed to meet children's interests, allowing engagement in play and independent choice.
Children’s emotional welfare is also prioritised. The report notes, “All children, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities, build secure relationships with staff.”
Staff offer cuddles and reassurance, which fosters emotional wellbeing. However, areas for improvement have been identified.
Leaders should enhance their support for parents regarding screen time and healthy food choices.
The nursery's menu includes items such as shepherd's pie and chicken and rice, which are generally healthy, though challenges remain. The report mentions that some foods brought from home are not always nutritionally beneficial.
The nursery has plans for future development, including working with local authority inclusion officers to further support children with special educational needs. Leaders also aim to ensure children benefit from any eligible funding.
Overall, the nursery is committed to providing a safe, nurturing environment where children can thrive. Parents have reported positively on the support their children receive, reinforcing the nursery's role in helping children meet their milestones.
