A VILLAGE pub has a new landlord - who already runs an establishment in the same area.
Pub goers in Shelf will already recognise Danielle Gillen's face from the Shoulder of Mutton.
And she has now taken on the nearby Duke of York in Shelf.
The pub reopened last Saturday and was met with a great reception.
Live music and food at The Duke of York
Danielle says the addition of food and live music has generated customers old and new.
On its opening weekend (September 12-13), the pub offered 2-4-1 on all mains or a free starter with any main.
It also saw live music performances from Chris Nicols and Pink tribute Donna Moody.
The pub's Sunday menu features roast options as well as burgers, fish & chips, and homemade lasagne.
"Everybody has loved it," she told the Telegraph & Argus.
"The food we have put out was amazing and we have had live music on.
"One of the customers said usually at 9pm on Saturday night there is not a soul in the pub but we had people in here singing away until half 11. It was just a lovely friendly atmosphere.
"The food service on Sunday was extremely busy, We had over 100 people booked."

'We have always loved the pub'
Danielle says she could "not pass up on the opportunity" when she saw the Duke Of York was available.
"We have always loved the pub," she added.
"We have had friends from the other pub come up here for the first time.
"They have never been here before and they absolutely loved it."
And Danielle also has big plans for the pub's upstairs.
She said: "We are renovating upstairs to offer the rooms out like a B&B.
"Quite a few people have been asking about that, so we hope to get it done before Christmas for people with family coming over."
Charity Pub Race in Shelf this Friday
The Duke of York will also be taking part in the charity pub race this coming Friday.
Starting at The Bottomleys Arms, the Shelf community is raising money for Macmillan, Overgate Hospice and British Heart Foundation.
A post on the pub's Facebook page reads: "Get ready for an amazing day of fun, friends, and fundraising!
"Join us on Friday 27th September for our Charity Pub Race – a lively evening visiting local pubs, completing challenges, and raising money for a fantastic cause!
"We’re looking for donations for our raffle and auction – big or small, every prize helps us raise more for charity.
"If you or your business can contribute, please get in touch – it’s a great way to support the community and get your name out there!"
