TICKETS are now available for a powerful show telling the story of a Gypsy family living on the outskirts of Bradford.
RIDE! is being held at TFD Centre from 7.30pm on Friday, September 19.
The audience will follow young Gypsy boy, Jimmy, who spent his early years living off a plot of land with his family.
His father, a proud scrap metal collector, teaches him the value of hard work and the importance of finding beauty in the everyday things that others discarded.
His grandmother, ‘Big Mammy’, passes down traditions that keep her community’s heritage alive.
It falls against the backdrop of a lack of authorised sites, tightening planning regulations, and pressure on legislation criminalising roadside stopping.
The family also faces social stigma and institutional racism.
It pushes to the family to settle into housing on a council estate and Jimmy works to adapt to the change.

It is written by Romany Gypsy rapper, Big Deli (Will), and composer Jamie Roberts, RIDE! features local rappers, a cast of professional dancers, and an integrated inter-generational cast of students from the Northern School of Contemporary Dance and community members.
It has been made in collaboration with Spin Arts, Leeds Gypsy and Traveller Exchange (Leeds GATE) and their members.
Standard tickets cost £5 while community tickets - those classed as BD4 Residents or Gypsy, Roma & Traveller People - can pay £2.50 per person.
