AN iconic West Yorkshire venue has revealed it has already sold more than 100,000 tickets for a summer of music next year.
The Piece Hall in Halifax is busy preparing for TK Maxx presents Live at The Piece Hall 2025.
A number of big names - including Gary Barlow, Olly Murs, The Libertines, Simple Minds, Travis, Texas, Weezer and Supergrass - have already been announced as headliners.
A spokesperson for the Piece Hall said: "We're happy to announce that we have sold over 100,000 tickets so far for TK Maxx presents Live at The Piece Hall 2025.
"We are so excited for next summer and we still have more to announce, so stay tuned."
Meanwhile, in Bradford, Bradford Live continues to sit empty - less than a month before the start of Bradford 2025 City of Culture.
On September 19, it was announced that the Birmingham-based NEC Group had exited the Bradford Live scheme - and a search for a new operator for the £50.5 million taxpayer-backed venue had begun.
That search is understood to be ongoing - but Bradford Council has said very little about the process.
Last month, Councillor Alex Ross-Shaw, Bradford Council's portfolio holder for regeneration, planning and transport, who is also a director of Bradford Live, issued a brief statement saying: "We are progressing at pace to identify a new operator and can assure everyone that there is strong interest in the venue, and we are confident it will play a strong role in our year as City of Culture.
"The commercially sensitive nature of the discussions means we aren't able to provide updates as regularly as we would like, but as soon as these are concluded we will update everyone."
Bradford Live had previously been expected to launch in the autumn, with those behind the scheme claiming it would be a "world-class entertainment centre".
A Council spokesperson said on September 19: "Further updates, and a new date for opening, will be provided when a new operator is confirmed."
