A SPECIAL event will celebrate the 41st anniversary of St Kitts and Nevis achieving full independence.
Everyone is welcome to attend the the event, which will be held at the Dominica Association of Bradford, on Worthington Street, between 2pm and 8pm this Sunday.
This year, members of the Malawi community will be at the celebration.
Steve Ndovie, a spokesperson for the Malawi community, said: "It will be a historical day sharing our cultures, food, dance, music, fashion and stories.
"On the day there will be tasters of both national dishes - the national dish of Malawi is Nsima and the national dish of St Kitts and Nevis is stewed saltfish plantain and coconut dumplings."
St Kitts and Nevis gained freedom from British rule on September 19, 1983.
St Kitts and Nevis is the smallest sovereign state in the Western Hemisphere and has an estimated population of around 53,000 people.
