WORK to create a new electric vehicle charging hub on a former pub site has begun.
International company Fastned was granted planning permission to develop the former Kingswood Arms site in Cutler Heights earlier this year.
The plans involve the creation of eight rapid charging bays on the site - covered by a solar glass canopy.
After years of dereliction the pub, which sits at the junction of Sticker Lane and Cutler Heights Lane, was demolished in 2019.
The site has remained empty and overgrown ever since.
The land, at one of the city’s busiest junctions, has now been fenced off, and construction vehicles are now on site, clearing the land in preparation for the development.
