A BRADFORD man is preparing to pound the streets of Berlin to raise money for a children's charity.
Chris Orant, 34, will take part in the Berlin Marathon on September 29 - its 50th anniversary - in aid of WellChild.
WellChild is a national charity providing care for seriously ill children in the UK.
Chris said: "As it is the 50th anniversary of the Berlin Marathon, it will be a busy one.
"I will be one of 50,000 runners hitting the streets.
"This will affect my running time but I'm still hoping for a sub-four-hour marathon finish time."
Chris, who has taken part in previous marathons, said: "I'm honoured to be running for WellChild.
"I'm raising money for this great charity as it does amazing work for children and young people.
"I haven't had to use the services provided by WellChild but I think it's a great cause.
"It's important charities like these are well funded for those who do need support from them."
