THERE can’t be many - if any - paddling pools across the UK in such a stunning location as this.
The pool, off Wells Road, on the edge of Ilkley Moor, is popular with families who come along and relax while youngsters splosh about in the water.
It is a regular stopping off point for walkers who have crossed Ilkley Moor. Both children and adults sit and dip their tired feet in to cool off.
In this picture, taken in May 1961, work is being carried out to prepare the paddling pool for the busy summer holidays
The pool, which dates back decades, is regularly cleaned during summer.
The Friends of Ilkley Moor and Bradford Council Countryside Services also give it out-of-season deep cleans, working with power washers and brushes to scour the bottom and sides ready for the next hot spell.
