A LOCAL councillor has offered guidance to those celebrating weddings in Bradford after a large convoy caused disruption earlier this week.
Police directed traffic around a selection of eye-catching cars that had gathered on Odsal's Rooley Avenue on Wednesday afternoon.
The road was temporarily reduced to a single lane towards Staygate as officers asked wedding guests to find alternative parking places.
The collection of supercars included a Bugatti, Lamborghinis, Porsches, and an Audi.
The T&A understands that the wedding party was due to set off for destinations including Ogden Water, with talk of helicopters also being involved to transport some of the guests.
Wibsey Ward councillor Faiz Ilyas understands weddings should be celebrated joyfully but does not want the wider community disturbed by them.
He said: "I'm fully in favour of people celebrating their special occasions, such as weddings, in a joyous and memorable way.
"However, it is crucial that these celebrations are conducted in compliance with the law and in a manner that does not disrupt the community or compromise safety.
"In light of the disruption caused by the wedding convoy on Rooley Avenue, I would like to offer some guidance to ensure that such events can be enjoyed by all while maintaining public order and safety."
The convoy departed at around 2.30pm and could be seen heading down Rooley Avenue and then along Rooley Lane towards the Dudley Hill roundabout.
This was when a child was pictured stood up in a moving convertible red Lamborghini filming the proceedings.
Cllr Ilyas added: "I would encourage residents planning large-scale celebrations to liaise with local councils and neighbourhood policing ahead of time.
"This will help to ensure that appropriate measures are in place to manage traffic and parking, minimising disruption to the wider community.
"Secondly, safety should always be a priority. This includes ensuring that all passengers, especially children, are securely seated while vehicles are in motion.
"The image of a child standing up in a moving vehicle is particularly concerning and highlights the need for vigilance in adhering to road safety regulations.
"By planning meticulously and coordinating with local authorities, we can create an environment where celebrations are both joyous and safe for everyone involved.
"Let's work together to celebrate in ways that respect and include our entire community."
