AN event is being held to help anyone struggling to get a prom outfit.

It has been organised by Helping Hands, which now has more than 33,000 members on Facebook.

The group co-ordinates donations, which are then gifted to those in need, and also has its own foodbank.

This year, founder Claire Tempest and her team have teamed up with Bradford City Football Club Community Foundation to run a prom event for the second year in a row.

The event is being held to ensure every child has the opportunity to attend a prom regardless of their situation.

Helping Hands said: "For anyone struggling to get their children a prom outfit, Helping Hands will be able to support with dresses, suits, shoes and accessories etc for those in need to ensure they get to feel special when attending the prom.

"A huge thank you to Bradford City Football Club Community Foundation for providing us with a venue to enable us to make this happen.

"Our thanks is also extended to Morrisons Thornbury who have also made a donation to help with providing a buffet for the children attending."

The event will take place on Sunday, June 2 from 2pm until 4pm at the Bradford City Cafe at Valley Parade.
