Family-owned Czajka Care Group has invested more than £850,000 in a major extension and refurbishment programme at its popular Brookfield Care Home in Nab Wood near Saltaire. The care home officially opened its doors to new residents this week, having created eight new en-suite rooms.

Following work completing on the extension, the team of 45 care professionals at Brookfield Care Home are now able look after 45 residents in their own en-suite rooms. With full-time care, respite care, palliative care, day care and short breaks all available at the purpose-built home, Brookfield Care Home has been rated as ‘good’ by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

Julie-ann Fitton, manager at Brookfield Care Home, said: “I’m so excited to see the new wing of our wonderful home open. So much attention has been paid to all the little details and the fully accessible rooms and bathrooms meet all our residents’ needs perfectly. Along with deputy managers, Helen Larkin and Ada Przykaza, and the rest of the fabulous team, we are delighted to be able to care for more residents. It’s such a lovely community here at Brookfield, with first-rate facilities, an array of activities and a central location ideal for visitors, and there is plenty of parking too.”

Managing director of Czajka Care Group, Konrad Czajka, added: “There is a high level of demand for quality residential care in the area, and we know from the number of enquiries we have received that all eight rooms will soon be occupied. Those that have chosen to live at Brookfield have not only liked the team, the activities, the home-made food and the flexibility in terms of type of care available, but they have also been attracted to the fact that Brookfield Care Home is part of our wider Fairmount Park development.”

Fairmount Park includes a collection of 37 retirement homes and The Clubhouse, a first-class leisure facility, all within immaculate grounds on Nab Wood Drive in Shipley. Czajka Care Group is also currently building eight new retirement homes for people over 55 at Fairmount Park, which has a long waiting list, with some people reserving a property years in advance of their planned move date.

Fairmount Park has a crown green bowling and putting green, and many residents from the care home and retirement homes are members of The Clubhouse, where they can enjoy a host of facilities including a swimming pool, gym, bowling green, snooker table and much more.

Czajka Care Group owns Brookfield Care Home and Staveley Birkleas Nursing Home, which are all in Nab Wood near Shipley, as well as Currergate Nursing Home in Steeton, between Skipton and Keighley.
