A VAN was seized on a major Bradford road after police found its driver was disqualified.

West Yorkshire Police's Operation Steerside Team stopped the vehicle on Barkerend Road in the east of the city.

It came after officers suspected "something was amiss".

The driver handed police his licence which showed he was banned until next April.

Officers seized the van and reported him to the courts.

His licence was also seized and returned to the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency.

Elsewhere in the same part of Bradford, a car was seized for being driven without insurance.

Steerside officers pulled over a silver Citroën on Otley Road.

The driver produced a screenshot of an insurance policy but was "less than convincing when questions were raised about its legitimacy".
