THE Baji Bantams - a group for South Asian football fans of Bradford City - has been honoured with an award.
The group launched earlier this year as a supportive and inclusive space for lifelong fans, families, and matchday newbies.
Months on, it has been given the national Sporting Heritage Award for celebrating South Asian heritage.
Humayun Islam said: "Winning the Sporting Heritage Award in the South Asian Heritage category felt incredibly rewarding for the Baji Bantams. Our impact on changing lives is significant, providing a supportive community for South Asian female fans of Bradford City FC.
"Through our passion for football, we have fostered a sense of belonging and empowerment among members, breaking down barriers and promoting inclusivity in the sport.
"We have come together as a collective with a number of key organisations such Eden Community Association, Sport Campaign Against Racism & North Bangladeshi Cricket Association to encourage fan engagement from the South Asian community."
