AN air ambulance was sent out following an assault on a Bradford district street this weekend.

The incident occurred on West Royd Avenue in Shipley just after 5pm on Saturday afternoon.

One person was taken to hospital via road ambulance.

The air ambulance landed on the field at Thackley Old Road.

The Telegraph & Argus did approach West Yorkshire Police for a comment.

A Yorkshire Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "A number of ambulance resources, including the air ambulance, responded to an incident in West Royd Avenue, Shipley on Saturday afternoon.

"The emergency call was received at 5.28pm.

"We were dispatched to the scene to reports of assault.

"One person was conveyed to hospital via road ambulance."
